I am simultaneously becoming more and more obsessed with riding ... I think about motorcycles all the time ... And also starting to wonder if I need to stop doing this until my kids get older. I saw a video of a head on crash last week. It didn’t involve a motorcycle, but my first car thought was, “Fuck, if I had been on my scooter there, I’d be fucking dead.”
I'm feeling very conflicted lately.

I would love to have a motorcycle. I know from riding a dirt bike (off road only) as a kid I would really enjoy it. Unfortunately there is too great a chance some self-important nimrod will make my wife a widow and deprive my kids of their father for me to be willing to get on a bike these days . Besides that, my father-in-law has been in four bike accidents and somehow has survived all of them . For the longest time my wife said “you want motorcycle, fine - but I’m out the moment you buy one”. These days she says “go ahead, just up your life insurance first”. :)
As it is, if I want the wind in (what’s left of) my hair, I’ll just have to get a convertible. Sure, I understand the whole “you can die in a car crash too” argument but the reality is bikes are inherently more dangerous.
TL;DR - self-important jerks ruin the fun in everything.

Yeah, I had scooters and a motorcycle in Hawaii but people are shit drivers there, they don’t look, plus our potholes are world class. I also know a couple people who died and one almost didn’t walk again. I see guys at work who commute a long way on a bike and they have kids, it just doesn’t seem worth it to me.

The motorcycle puts his and his SO’s lives in danger by passing on a double yellow approaching a blind hill, impatient douche, needs to have license revoked for life.
Driver who tries to take him out, license revoked for life, severe beatings everyday for the next 5-15 years.

Just looked at the thumbnail for the video and the bike doesn’t look like it could have possibly headoned a range and still look like that. Either way o ther people are so dangerous when your on a bike.
